The culprit of many a Ford Bantam gearbox leak. It would appear that the designers decided the transmission would benefit from a breather as an after thought as this plastic pipe is inserted through the top gearbox mounting into the gearbox. Yes you guessed it – any shift / wear on the mounting and the plastic tube breaks spewing gearbox oil everywhere.
